At the most recent point in time count, there were over 1,000 people in Rochester experiencing homelessness. Many of them stay at shelters throughout the city. At Health Reach, we partner with our city's shelters and provide medical care directly at them. Many even have exam rooms built specifically for us! We've been their partner for over 30 years, and those partnerships last because they know we show up and get people care. We often come in to patients' lives at a time of crisis, when they are newly experiencing homelessness, and we offer them dignity, respect and quality medical care.
At Health Reach, we know that kindness, compassion and caring are the best ways we can connect with our patients, and sometimes change a life.
Every person in a shelter has a story worth hearing. At Health Reach, we listen with care and without judgment—because healing starts with being seen.
Our Shelter Medicine team serves some of Rochester's most vulnerable. Your support lets us continue this hard, loving journey, knowing that the traditional medical establishment wasn't built to serve these patients. People experiencing homelessness are hospitalized seven times more frequently than those with housing. Help us address the healthcare disparities of homelessness.
Please give today. Helping people in the shelters makes all of Rochester healthier, safer and a better place to live.
